EmpathyBot is an AI-powered mental health companion that uses real-time emotion detection and crisis management to make psychological support accessible to everyone. The system is built on a RoBERTa-Large model (355M parameters) fine-tuned on the GoEmotions dataset across 28 emotion categories. Training utilized Weighted Focal Loss, AdamW optimizer with layer-wise learning rate decay, and Multi-Sample Dropout — achieving competitive Macro-F1 scores that surpass several existing studies in emotion classification.
